The 5 Senses of Love:
By Barbara Lyman Kirby
Love Sounds:
Like the powerful crash of ocean waves
Like the wind rustling in the trees on a summer afternoon
Like crickets chirping in the evening
Like the content purr of a sleeping kitten
Love Smells:
Like blooming Lilacs in early summer
Like coffee brewing in the morning when you first wake up
Like homemade bread baking in the oven
Like freshly cut grass in a country field
Love Tastes:
Like a drop of sugar on the end of your tongue
Like a bite of ice cream on a hot day
Like that first sip of cocoa after playing in the snow
Like the sweet burst of juice when you bite into a fresh strawberry
Love Feels:
Like a cool breeze on your face in mid-August
Like a fluffy, warm towel just out of the dryer
Like a Chenile blanket around your neck as you sleep
Like the soft, smooth fur of a week old puppy
Love Looks:
Like Silver and Gold sun rays shimmering on the water
Like Red and Orange swirls against the blue sky at sunset
Like a field of multicolored wild flowers dancing in the breeze
Like a sky full of flickering gold stars under the bright full moon
Brian and Christine, I challenge you both:
To listen closely to that wind rustling in the trees
To soak in the scent of those lilacs and freshly cut grass
To savor every bite of those fresh strawberries
To hold each other close under that Chenile Blanket
To look often at the colors in that Sunset
May you both enjoy a lifetime of the Senses of Love.
