My Valentine Rose

I gaze upon her beauty as if it were a rose
Intricate petals form a single perfect bloom
Long stems with no need of ribbon or bow
A hint of passion like the finest perfume

With roses there are none two alike
Just like snowflakes of each only one
Thorns to protect not to injure or strike
In any contest the blue ribbon won

The most beautiful flower in the garden
An American beauty true to the name
Proud and tall not asking for pardon
Soft and lovely but definitely not tame

Lips of crimson like a sunset in splendor
Accented by eyes like a cool mountain stream
The smile to make any man fall to surrender
A Valentine of most wondrous extreme
