NUMBERS

We the people of the earth,
Rejoice and sing the anthem of our birth.
Our loves, our joys, our way of life,
And the way we fight through pain and strife.
I am one, I am two, I am all,
No-one can even challenge my call.
At last I’ve found who I want to be,
I am myself, I mean I’m free.
Free as the air which is my blood,
Careless as cows who chew the cud,
Tameless as winds on a winters’ night,
None can perceive my aimless flight.
I carry myself through all my pain,
And there is no-one I can’t tame.
My mind is my own, my thoughts are free,
I’ve cut the cord which strangled me.
I’m free to roam where ever I please,
My happiness no-one can appease.
I kiss the flowers beneath my feet,
I race the snow and kiss the sleet.
I ride the waves to the oceans’ floor
And chase the mermaids to the shore.
My bed is a cloud, my blanket the sky,
The whispering wind is my lullaby.
I wake myself to the sea birds call
I am the one who reigns over all.
For I’ve found at last who I want to be,
I am myself, but at least I’m free.

I’ve been through all my trouble and strife
And found the very basis of life.
I’ve reached the ultimate depths of sorrow
And found what life has in store tomorrow.
I like what I’ve found - the essence of birth
And now I can live happily on earth.
I’ve flown with the birds high above the sea
And I’ve sunk to as low depths as one can be.
I’ve experienced ultimate happiness in ways never known
But experienced sadness in a single groan.
I can now make a choice of where to progress
For I’ve outlived all my trouble and stress.
I know where I am and I know where to go
And I know how to move quick, and also move slow.
I have felt love through a single sigh
But I’ve vanished within a wink of an eye.
For I dwell on the earth, I fly in the air
I swim in the sea and I don’t care.
The air is my blood, the sun my eyes,
They show me when to laugh, and when not to cry.
I run my own life, I walk my own death
And I experience emotion in a single breath.
I am all the numbers I want to be,
I am one, also two, but mainly I’m free.
