The puzzlement within your eyes
Is plain for all to see.
You’re wondering what I’m doing,
Why I hold you close to me.

Do you hesitate when near me?
I know it’s difficult to trust.
Relationships are fragile,
Often crumbling to dust.

Thus, I wish that I could tell you
Why I do the things I do,
Why I want to have you near me,
Why it’s easy trusting you.

But I have no ready answers,
And I hope for goodness’ sake,
That we’re meant for one another,
And I’m not making a mistake.
