My Cousin Died And I Cried

Dear Sriram,

My mind you only filled
My heart only you tilled
I have become weak-willed
I am no longer skilled

A kind of vacuum created
In a way joy is deleted
Your stay you completed
Alone life is by me competed

You knew not to show hatred
Your heart was damn sacred
Your love account was never red
Mercy was in your noble blood

How many friends you invited!
In whose company you got excited
By pure affection you were delighted
Only love in hearts you sighted

A tough course you finely passed
All CA hurdles you boldly surpassed
Great mirth this success caused
Your own self you joyfully bossed

You had never bothered to be proud
No head-weight was by you allowed
You behaved like a rainy cloud
At last a girl became your beloved

Only one woman came in your life
And she happened to be your wife
No female eyes could cut you like knife
As you prevented that sort of strife

I played with you carom and chess
Very shrewdly you used to guess
If defeated you used to strongly press
That by a victory you must impress

Your love for all was equitably spread
I got the chance to carry your head
Memories about you will never be dead
Why my dear Sriram you went ahead?

In the photo you have given a casual pose
Amidst roses you look like a pretty rose
Your parents’ looks you could singly expose
No restrictions to you anyone did impose

You never proudly were wearing any dress
You were only searching for heart’s address
Others’ agonies only you tried to redress
About none in life you did wrongly express

You will also do a bit of argument
But you were never vehement
And you avoided firmly being adamant
So innocent was your angelic sentiment

Dark mustache with black hair
Is your leaving all of us fair?
I find God’s presence in your stare
A selfless rich soul like you is rare

You know how mother and sister cried?
On that day all my joy totally died
All my Nobel Prize ambition has dried
What is the use when Sriram is to me denied?

Your heart-beat will beat Sanskrit Mantra
As it knows not anything about Tantra
Always it will call World to come for a draw
My dear Sriram, why did you decide to withdraw?

All the priests chanted sincerely quotes from Vedas
My mind analyzed how your Worldly life was
Purely golden was your laws with no flaws
You have won the toss escaping life’s jaws

In a nutshell, with Gods you could mingle
And bless us from a holy Divine angle
You reached the Lord by being single
Leaving all fights in the World-jungle.

With deep love, affection and respects,
Yours truly,

M V VENKATARAMAN

I like this poem, I has loads of emotion. You can feel it and somehow it stops me from my motion.

Simplybigme is a lover not a fighter.
